Day 1.
Arrival Seville, you will be picked up and taken to your accommodation. If there is time (flight times) we can already ride the bike to Seville before we have dinner together in one of the good restaurants near our hotel. This way we get to know each other a little better.
Overnight stay Ilunion Alcora or equivalent hotel.
Day 2. Tour Seville
After adjusting the bikes to personal wishes (saddle height, handlebar height, etc.) we make a tour through the city. Seville has an excellent cycle route network, developed since 2007. Today we cycle around 30 km in the city and pass the most important monuments. In the evening we will eat delicious tapas.
Overnight stay Ilunion Alcora or equivalent hotel.
Day 3. Sevilla El Rocio
From our hotel we cycle to the pilgrimage site ‘El Rocio’; a trip on the paths used by thousands of pilgrims, who come to this village every year at Pentecost to honor the virgin Rocio. They come from far and wide, with horses and horse-drawn carts and the Andalusian flamenco clothing makes it a colorful whole. The journey there, which sometimes takes a week, is considered as important as the ceremony at the virgin Rocio itself. Even though we go outside the pilgrimage week, it is an experience to follow this route that leads from the Aljarafe through the beautiful natural park of Coto Doñana The majority are gravel and sand paths, but easy to ride with the bicycles we have at our disposal. The arrival and stay in el Rocio, the ‘cowboy village’ with dirt roads and white houses that we share with a small group of permanent residents, is a unique experience.
This tour is 62 km 3 ¾ hours cycling
Overnight stay Hotel La Fonda or equivalent hotel.
Day 4. El Rocio – Los Palacios y Villafranca
Today we cycled from El Rocio via Coria del Rio to Los Palacios y Villafranca.
Coria del rio is a village on the banks of the Guadalquivir, the river that is 657 km long and has been particularly important for the history of Seville. This tour again goes through part of Coto Doñana Natural Park, with
a visit to Dehesa de Tornero which is known for its bird populations. Waterfowl are found in large numbers and migratory birds can show up everywhere so that every visit brings surprises.
We take the ferry across the Guadalquivir in Coria del Rio.

Day 5. Los Palacios y Villafranca – Arcos de la Frontera
Today you cycle from Los Palacios y Villafranca to Arcos de la Frontera. Again, a variety of birds can be seen, with large populations of (black) storks and herons in particular attracting attention. A visit to the town of las Cabezas de san Juan for a cup of coffee and then continue cycling through the rolling countryside of pure Andalusia, with olive trees and the vineyards of the famous Barbadillo wine. Arriving in Arcos de la Frontera you can fully enjoy and relax in a beautiful hotel.

Day 6 . Arcos de la Frontera – Jerez de la Frontera
Today we first visit Arcos de la Frontera, beautifully situated on a cliff as we saw yesterday. Arcos dates back to Moorish times and is one of the famous white Andalusian villages, with winding streets, beautiful patios and colorful courtyards. a beautiful view of the area where we have cycled and are still going to cycle. After our visit to the town, we leave for Jerez de la Frontera, famous for its flamenco, sherry and horses. We arrive in Jerez in the afternoon, which gives us the gives the opportunity to take a city walk together. A completely different experience than in Seville, due to the different character of this city, also in architecture. Jerez has a lively entertainment center, which we will certainly enjoy after our dinner together.
This tour is 41.5 km 2 ½ hours cycling.
Overnight Hostal Fenix or equivalent hotel.
Day 7. Jerez de la Frontera – Cádiz
The last cycling day is a mix of cycling through very varied landscape and visiting 3 small coastal towns: you cycle to the sea. From Jerez to Sanlucar de Barrameda, through a beautiful rolling area of vineyards and wheat fields. Sanlucar de Barrameda is a seaside and harbor town, located on the same Guadalquivir that we already know from Seville and Coria del Rio. You can take a short break here to taste the best ’tortillitas de camarones’ and to see some of this surprising town. You then drive parallel to the coast in about one hour to Chipiona. This coastal town is very popular with Spaniards from Seville. It also has beautiful white sandy beaches, there are many eateries along the boulevard; all in all very relaxing. In Rota, the third coastal town, there may be time for a drink and a swim before taking the ferry to the oldest city in Western Europe: Cádiz.
When you arrive in Cádiz you cycle to the hotel and you already get a good first impression of this beautiful colonial city. The bikes are picked up and you can take a nice city walk based on our tips.

ROUTE
During the trip you will cycle partly on quiet asphalt, sand and gravel roads, mostly without traffic. The southwest of Andalucia, bordering the Atlantic coast, is relatively flat. However, there is a cliff coast in places and here and there hills rise strikingly from the lowlands, in order to be able to live protected, at least in the past. In Spain, wearing a helmet is mandatory when cycling.
MEALS
We notice with this cycling tour that participants like to eat somewhere on their own in the evening and explore the city where they sleep. That is why breakfast and lunch are included in this tour and all other meals are not included. The tour guide chooses a nice restaurant in the evening where you can dine, you can then decide for yourself whether you want to participate or go eat somewhere on your own.
