Cycling holiday in beautiful Andalusia, we start this tour in Seville and cycle through different landscapes throughout the week. The Doñana Natural Park, the Brazo del Este bird sanctuary, then hills around Arcos de la Frontera, through typical Andalusian landscapes and ending along the coast with the beautiful beaches of Chipiona and Rota. And finally the oldest city in Europe, Cádiz. This week is not only enjoying nature and cycling, but also visiting restaurants and trying the local dishes.

Day 1.

Arrival Seville, you will be picked up by a Pedrotours car and taken to your accommodation in Seville. Arriving at the hotel, the Pedrotours team will provide you with the bikes with the maps and GPS coordinates and after having adjusted the bikes to personal wishes (saddle height, handlebar height, etc.) we drink a welcome drink together. Overnight stay in Seville.

Day 2. Tour Seville

Today a wonderful day cycling through Seville. Seville has an excellent cycling route network, developed since 2007. Today's route is around 30 km in the city and goes past the main monuments. In the evening you can eat delicious tapas and - for those who want - a visit to a flamenco show. Overnight stay in Seville

Day 3. Sevilla - El Rocio

From the hotel you will cycle to the pilgrimage site 'El Rocio'; a journey along the paths used by thousands of pilgrims, who come to this village every year at Pentecost to pay tribute to the virgin Rocio. They come from far and wide, with horses and horse carts and the Andalusian flamenco clothing makes it a colorful whole. The journey there is considered as important as the ceremony at the Virgin Rocio herself. Even if you cycle outside the pilgrim week, it is an experience to follow this route that runs from the Aljarafe through the beautiful Coto Doñana Natural Park. The majority are gravel and sand paths, but easy to ride with the bicycles that we have at our disposal. The arrival and stay in el Rocio, the 'cowboy village' with dirt roads and white houses that we share with a small group of permanent residents, is a unique experience. Overnight stay in Rocio This trip is 62 km 3 ¾ hours cycling This tour is 52.5 km

Day 4. El Rocio - Coria del Rio

Today you will cycle from El Rocio to Coria del Rio, a village on the banks of the Guadalquivir, the river that is 657 km long and has been particularly important for the history of Seville. This tour again goes through part of the Coto Doñana Natural Park, visiting Dehesa de Abajo which is known for its bird populations. Waterfowl are found in large numbers and migratory birds can appear everywhere so that every visit provides surprises. We spend the night in Coria del Rio. This tour is 52 km 3½ hours cycling

Day 5. Coria del Rio - Arcos de la Frontera

Today the longest tour of this cycling week: you will cycle from Coria del Rio to Arcos de la Frontera. The day starts with a ferry crossing over the Guadalquivir. The tour goes along the Brazo del Este Natural Park: you cycle past cotton and rice fields, with shallow bird-rich pools. Again a variety of birds can be seen, with especially large populations of (black) storks and herons attracting attention. A visit to the town of las Cabezas de san Juan for a cup of coffee and then continue cycling through the rolling countryside of pure Andalusia, with olive groves and the vineyards of the famous Barbadillo wine. When you arrive in Arcos de la Frontera you can fully enjoy and relax in the beautiful 'Cortijo' with swimming pool and a view of Arcos. Overnight stay at Arcos de la Frontera This tour is 77 km / 85 km

Day 6. Arcos de la Frontera - Jerez de la Frontera

Today a visit to Arcos de la Frontera, beautifully situated on a cliff. Arcos dates back to Moorish times and is one of the famous white Andalusian villages, with winding streets, beautiful patios and colorful courtyards. There is also a continuous beautiful view of the area where you have cycled and will continue to cycle. After visiting the town you will cycle to Jerez de la Frontera, famous for its flamenco, sherry and horses. In the afternoon you will arrive in Jerez, a completely different experience than in Seville, due to the different character of this city, also in architecture. Jerez has a lively nightlife center that you are sure to enjoy. Overnight stay in Jerez de la Frontera This tour is 41.5 km 2 ½ hours cycling

Day 7. Jerez de la Frontera - Cádiz

The last cycling day is a mix of cycling through very varied nature and visiting 3 small coastal towns: cycling to the sea! In about an hour and a half from the city of Jerez to Sanlucar de Barrameda, through a beautiful rolling area of vineyards and wheat fields. The large white 'fincas' (farms) of landowners are scattered throughout the landscape. Sanlucar de Barrameda is a seaside and port town, located on the same Guadalquivir river that we already know from Seville and Coria del Rio. You can take a short break here to taste the best 'tortillitas de camarones' and see some of this surprising town. Then continue driving parallel to the coast in about one hour to Chipiona. This coastal town is very popular with Spaniards from Seville. It also has beautiful white sandy beaches, there are many eateries along the boulevard; all in all very relaxed. Wine has been produced in Chipiona for 5 centuries – we can taste a glass of it in the bodega near the castle, before driving on to Rota. This time we follow the coast along luxurious resorts, on wooden paths through pine forests and sometimes on earthen paths. The Atlantic Ocean keeps appearing to our right. In Rota there is time for a drink and a swim, before you take the ferry to the oldest city in Western Europe: Cádiz. Arriving in Cádiz you cycle to the hotel and you get a good first impression of this beautiful colonial city, the oldest in Western Europe and known from the film 'Mi Vida'. The bikes are meanwhile collected and we drink a farewell drink. This trip is 62 km 3 ¾ hours cycling

Day 8: Transfer to the airport. And goodbye!
Depending on the flight, maybe there is time to take a walk on the beach or visit the botanical "Parque Genovéz". Or what to do in the city center. And then you will be brought back to Seville and it's time to say goodbye ..... Gracias y adiós!
