Costa de la Luz, the ‘coast of light’, runs from Tarifa to Cádiz. With this varied sports holiday you will discover an authentic, still unknown piece of Spain that contains all famous Spanish ingredients. Think of the passionate flamenco, sherry, bulls and delicious tapas. And of course the vast Atlantic Ocean to take a refreshing dip. To show you this environment as well as possible, we have set up this sports week with guided MTB and hiking trips, surf classes, horse riding and a city tour in beautiful Cadiz.Accodation: there will be a stay in the months of April to September In an atmospheric, family -run hotel Hotel Alhambra in the town of ZaHora with brightly colored rooms and many plants on the patio. The stay is based on a double room with its own shower and toilet. In the months of October to March, there will be a atmospheric, family run, hotel La Janda in the town of Vejer de la Frontera Bienvenid@s!

Program

Day 1.Bienvenidos, welcome!

Arrival day. Transfer from the airport to your accommodation. Depending on the flight and where you arrive, there is possibly time for a walk to explore the neighborhood.

Day 2. MTB Vineyard Sancha Perez.

A tour that you take from Zahora to Conil, starts through the dunes and walks towards El Palmar. Ol Palmar is a seaside resort that is mainly visited by wind and kite surfers, from El Palmar we drive to Conil de la Frontera where the vineyard of Sanchha Perez lies. This estate consists of all kinds of plantations, not only vineyards but also olive trees, fruit trees, aromatic and native plants. You can try a tour and a glass of wine here. The tour takes an hour and then we cycle on to the coast of Conil To drive over the cliffs to the marina, where you can have a delicious lunch. After lunch we cycle back on the beach (if again and tide it) towards ZaHora.

Day 3. Cádiz

Cádiz with a bodega visit. We can take a walk through the city of Cadiz, where you can see the most beautiful places: Plaza San Juan de Dios, the Cathedral, Plaza de la Flores, the covered market, Calle Ancha (the largest shopping street), Plaza San Antonio, Plaza Mina.and lunch (for example tapas on the market). You can visit the Bodega where you get an explanation about the production of sherry and you can taste it. Very Andalusian!

Day 4. Horse riding El Palmar.

A ride of two and a half hours on horseback, from El Palmar on the beach to Zahora. Marion takes you on a beach ride and a trip through the La Brena nature park. And we have lunch in the village of San Ambrosio.

Day 5. Zahora – los Caños de Meca – El Palomar

A coastal and forest walk. We start our day in the village of Los Caños de Meca (sandy beach, freshwater springs, rocks) and walk through the La Breña nature park along the steep cliffs of Barbate. We enjoy a very nice view over the Atlantic Ocean, even to Africa again ; Tanger’s houses can be seen. At Torre del Tajo, a watchtower from the 15th century, we have a last beautiful look at the spectacular cliffs before we enter the pine forests. We walk towards El Palomar de la Breña: a pigeon complex from the 18th century. We eat here a snack in the corresponding restaurant, before we continue walking towards the coast. On the way we see the Cape of Trafalgar looming. We walk back to Los Caños de Meca, where we can take a refreshing dive. A nice closure of the day is a walk around the trafalgar lighthouse.

Day 6. Surfing El Palmar

We take a two -hour surfing lesson on the beach of El Palmar and learn from a Pro the starting surf skills. If you are a good surfer, we can take a day trip to El Palmar. The Surfloter guides you about the golfing of the Atlantic Ocean, This way you will always learn something when we have lunch in one of the restaurants on the Boulevard of El Palmar.

Day 7. Hiking La Muela, santa Lucia, Vejer de La frontera

This is a route that runs down, via a Roman acuaduct with waterfalls and a natural ‘yakuzi’. Dan we come to the inhabited world (well … 7 houses ..) where we in a bar above the flowing water at Antonio being able to drink a drink. We continue our way, which climbs on the other side of the motorway to Vejer de la Frontera: the most beautiful white Andalusian village. We give a tour of the Slinger streets, with beautiful flowers in the patios, We climb the old city wall and climb an old city tower. In one of the good restaurants in Vejer, on the boulevard or on the square, we can eat and drink. And then we will go back for the last night in Zahora.

Day 8

Depending on your flight, there may still be time for a last dive or walk through the village and then it is time to say goodbye. We take you back to the airport and say “Gracias Y Adiós”!
