Costa de la Luz literally means: Coast of the Light, and with more than 3000 hours of sunshine per year that region of the sea lives up to its name! a beautiful subtropical nature, a long and turbulent past, and residents with an optimistic lifestyle. All in combination with - in the spring and autumn - pleasant temperatures, good food and drinks and a very nice local price level ... One day is dominated by culture: Cádiz is the oldest city in Spain with an imposing cathedral, sturdy city walls and a lively old working-class district called Barrio del Pópulo.
. Arrival day. Transfer from airport to your accommodation. Depending on the flight and where you arrive, there is still time for a walk to explore the neighborhood.
Day 2.M.T.B. WINE TOUR
A tour that takes us from Zahora to Conil, a tour that starts through the dunes towards El Palmar. El Palmar is a seaside resort that is mainly visited by wind and kite surfers, from El Palmar we head for Conil de la Frontera where the vineyard from Sancha Perez is. This vineyard is still working authentically there are all kinds of plantations, not only vineyards and olive trees, also fruit trees, aromatic and indigenous plants . We stop here to get a tour and taste a glass of wine with a delicious piece of cheese and the world famous smoked ham. The tour will take an hour and then we continue cycling towards the coast of conil to drive over the cliffs towards the marina where we will take a delicious lunch . After lunch we cycle back over the beach (if the weather and tide permits) towards Zahora. The tour is 35 km and starts at 11:00 and we will arrive in Zahora around 17:00

Day 3.: a day in Cádiz with a boat trip and a bodegabezoek. In the morning with guide we can take a walk through the city, then you will of course see the most beautiful places! Then free time and lunch (for example tapas on the market), and then we walk together to the port. Then we sail with the ferry in half an hour over the bay of Cádiz to the other side, where we can visit a bodega in Puerto de Santa Maria, a guided tour with sherry tasting there. Very Andalusian! Then we sail back and drive back to the shelters.
Day 4. A horse ride from two and half hour starting in El Palmar over the beach to Zahora

And we lunch at the bungalows in Zahora.
Day 5. Zahora - Trafalgar - los Caños de Meca - Barbate: a coastal walk. Partly along steep cliffs with a very nice view over the Atlantic Ocean, in clear weather even to Africa; the houses of Tangier can be seen. We can have lunch at los Caños de Meca (sandy beach, freshwater springs, cliffs, rocks) and take a refreshing dive there, before we continue. Through the nature park La Breña (pine forests), along the steep cliffs, to the beach of Barbate (tuna village). There we are picked up, and brought back to the shelters.This walk is medium-heavy and 12.5 km with the highest point being the cliffs 100 meters above the ocean.Duration walk 4 to 5 hours
Day 6. We take a two hour surf lesson on the beach of El Plamar and learn from a pro the beginning surf skills , if you are a good surfer we can arange a day trip to El Palmar you and the pro surfer go for a nice day on the waves of the Atlantic ocean at El Palmar beach. We lunch in one of the restaurants at the Boulevard of El Palmar.
Day 7.La Muela, Santa Lucia, Vejer de la Frontera. First we get a cup of coffee offered on the mountain where friends Raffa and Mieke lives. It is an incomparable view from his cottage. It is a route that runs downwards, through a roman acuaduct with waterfalls and a natural 'yakuzi', . We continue our way, which climbs on the other side of the motorway uphill to Vejer de la Frontera: the most beautiful white Andalusian village. There we take a tour , with beautiful flowers in the patios, the old city wall and maybe even an old city tower climb. Then we can take some free time. we will give some tips for lunch, although it is also nice to get lost and find a hidden restaurant. Then we walk back again and drink a nice drink with Raffa and Mieke on the mountain. And then back for the last night in Zahora.
La muela is 213 meters high where we start, Vejer is at 250 m altitude, it is a 7 km long walk.
Duration walk 4 hours. Start 10:30.
Day 8: Transfer to airport. And farewell!
